HE WAS JUST A BOY

On that fateful day

He was just following orders

Little did he know

How tragic it would be

As a rank and file

How could he reason

Let alone question

His own superiors

When he joined the force

He wished to serve

Only to preserve

His country’s peace

They told him to man up

How tragic that was

For deep inside

His was only a pawn

But who would excuse him

He’ll have to live

With guilty burning within

His crying heart

Yet all eyes are on this boy

How can he pay the ultimate price

Of a young life cut short

His tears can’t bring her back

May we all remember

He is just a bullied boy

A reflection of who we are

His pathetic people
