She strides onto the podium
Reads the script she has not authored
“We have one new case
An adult male of 51
A resident of DSM”
That’s all she has to say,
She has to stick to the script,
From her job description
‘She is a mouthpiece’

She is wary…
Her face and tone communicate all this,
But then she realizes
She has no alternative
At least so she thinks

Well…
She makes peace with the lies
Convinces herself
It’s all for the sake of the public,
Isn’t it so obvious that…?
Ignorance is Bliss

She walks out
For only the netizens to walk in with fury
All gunned up with facts and figures
Making all these analysis and commentaries
Condemning her actions and inactions

But really?
Isn’t she just a pawn?
Unfortunately and wrongfully burdened
With all these swearing and condemnations
